AC Milan CEO Marco Fassone has confirmed that they are negotiating the signing of Fiorentina striker Nikola Kalinic.
The Rossoneri have been very busy in the transfer market so far, including up front with the arrival of Portuguese striker Andre Silva and departure of Colombian forward Carlos Bacca to Villarreal.
Milan have been linked with Torino’s Andrea Belotti and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Borussia Dortmund, but the arrival of the Viola’s Croatian No. 9 now looks imminent.
"There's no point denying we have been negotiating for Kalinic for a long time. We are in advanced talks," Fassone told reporters after Milan beat Macedonian side Shkendija in Thursday’s Europa League play-off.
"Will there be another gift? The fans are happy with what we are doing. We've had a chance over the last few days to consider what is still missing and we're seeking it without haste."
The ‘gift’ in question could well be Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has been linked with a return to San Siro as the veteran Swedish striker is currently a free agent.
"If the right opportunity comes up, then we'll take it," Fassone added. "Otherwise we are competitive as we are."
