Lyon head coach Bruno Genesio is hopeful the early Ligue 1 pace setters can hold onto forward Maxwell Cornet beyond the current transfer window.
After two wins from their opening two league encounters, including a 4-0 win over Strasbourg, Les Gones have occupied top spot in the French top-flight.
The performances of two attackers in particular has raised eyebrows, with Mariano Diaz scoring four in two and Cornet becoming increasingly influential in cameo displays.
While Genesio is pleased with the positive start, the 50-year-old is mindful that he will need to keep hold of his best players after already parting ways with star striker Alexandre Lacazette.
Borussia Dortmund have been in contact with the French side, after identifying the Ivory Coast international as the ideal replacement for Barcelona bound Ousmanne Dembele.
"I am used to staying calm. We have had a good start with two victories like last year but this time there has been more control in our performances," he told reporters. "Everything is still fragile and we need to keep working and making progress.
"All those who are under contract with OL I consider to be my players. If anybody leaves we need to be ready for that.
"People are very, very hard on Maxwel Cornet. He is a contender to start on Saturday. He is an important player who I hold in high regard.
"If we lost a player like him it would be difficult and we would be obliged to replace him with a similar player, and they are not easy to find at this moment in the market."
