Vitesse Arnhem attacking midfielder Bryan Linssen feels the early Eredivisie pace setters can improve on their incredible achievements last season.
With Vitas punching above their weight with a fifth placed league finish and a maiden major trophy in the form of the KNVB Cup triumph – a host of players were plucked away from Henk Fraser's squad.
Zhang Yuning, Ricky van Wolfswinkel, Marvelous Nakamba and Eloy Room have all departed bringing in a total of €16.7million.
However, the arrivals of experienced Dutch top-flight players Luc Castaignos, Remko Pasveer, Tim Matavz, Thomas Bruns, Thulani Serero and Linssen have improved the overall quality within the Vitas squad – according to the former Groningen man.
"It was important for us to win our opening games of this Eredivisie season and we had to be careful not to underestimate our opponents and we have been very professional in our games so far against NAC Breda and Roda JC," he said after the 3-1 win over Roda.
"We have six points from two games and we are top of the league and we now look ahead to our home game against AZ Alkmaar next weekend.
"I also believe that we can be better than last year here at Vitesse Arnhem."
