Berizzo happy as Sevilla dominate Maribor

Callum Hudson-Odoi: England’s newest star makes Tom Heaton look silly in training

Sevilla boss Eduardo Berizzo was delighted after a hattrick from Wissam Ben Yedder saw off Maribor in the Champions League on Tuesday.

The French forward took the Spanish side top of Group E with a two-point lead over Liverpool and Spartak Moscow, who held each other to a 1-1 draw.

"It was a convincing win," Berizzo said. "We managed the ball very well. We won the game with a lot of authority, when we increased the speed, we became unstoppable.

"We accelerated at the right moments, and that's where the goals were achieved, when we accelerated and changed the pace of the attack."

Maribor coach Darko Milanic said his side "were a bit too shy when we had the ball" but wasn't surprised to see his side beaten by a "quality opponent".

"They didn't surprise us, we knew they would be a tough nut to crack," he said. "We wanted to close down their midfield and as soon as our concentration dropped, we conceded."
