West Ham defender Jose Fonte admits it was disappointing to lose against Tottenham, but remains optimistic about bouncing back with a win over Swansea.
The Hammers were beaten 3-2 at the London Stadium on Saturday, despite coming back from three goals down to reduce the deficit to one in the 87th minute via Cheikhou Kouyate.
Fonte revealed that it was hard to lose the London derby against Spurs, but is now hoping to claim three points against the Swans this weekend.
"Our last game was a disappointing result," the Portugal international told the club's official website.
"We obviously wanted to give the fans the bragging rights of the derby, so we're not happy we didn't do that, but we put our hearts in the game, we were aggressive and we wanted to win.
"We're not happy with the result, but we tried to fight back and we nearly did it, so there is no feeling of moral victory, but it's important to know that it's a long season and this game is gone and if we can get the three points [against Swansea], we go into the international break with a positive feeling."
