Rossi joins Genoa on short-term deal

‘I did my best to make things right with Atletico’ – Griezmann

Giuseppe Rossi has introduced himself to Genoa fans after Sky Sport Italia confirmed the striker had agreed to join the Serie A strugglers until the end of the season.

According to the broadcaster, Rossi landed in Milan on Wednesday and revealed he would be playing for the Rossoblu.

The 30-year-old is reported as saying: "I'm fine, I'm happy. I wish to say 'hello' to the Genoa fans."

Rossi added that he is looking forward to facing former employers Fiorentina in mid-December: "Fiorentina-Genoa on December 17? It'll be a great match."

The former Italy international could make his debut against Verona on Monday at the Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi.

Rossi has suffered a string of serious knee injuries during his career and last turned out for Celta Vigo seven months ago. He also previously represented Parma, Manchester United, Newcastle, Villarreal and Levante.
