Ceres-Negros FC set to conduct monthly free football clinics for the youth

To bring the Filipinos much closer to the beautiful game, Ceres-Negros FC has committed to conduct monthly free clinics for underprivileged kids as they go around in different parts of the country.

The Negros-based football team started doing so when they hosted a football clinic last Sunday at Boys Town in Marikina City. Around 50 kids were able to participate as most of them were just in their slippers or were barefoot.

Ceres coaches Frank Muescan, Jing Jambre, and Solomon Valerio took turns in teaching the kids the basics of football. Footballs, shoes, and jersey shirts were given away as well, as mentioned by team manager Miguel Atayde.

Atayde’s main purpose in this initiative is to bring Filipinos much closer to the game of football, and it all starts by dispelling the notion that football is only for the elite.

“That’s the idea of bringing the poor closer to football. We will donate football, rubber shoes, and jersey shirts next training,” said Atayde.
