Global Cebu finally issues a statement on the reason why the club was not able to travel to Iloilo to face Kaya this afternoon resulting to the game’s cancellation.
It was initially reported yesterday, 1 May, via Kaya FC’s official social media channels that their home game against Global Cebu (scheduled today 2 May) will not push through due to the inability of the latter to travel to Iloilo.
Kaya FC’s general manager, Paul Tolentino, can only mention that Global is having some “struggles” but the exact details should come either from the PFL/LFI or Global themselves.
This Wednesday morning, Global finally released a statement citing financial difficulties as the main reason why the club was not able to undertake the inter-island travel needed for the match to proceed.
Below are the screenshots of the statement sent to FOX Sports PH via text from Global’s media representative:
Liga Futbol Inc., the governing body of the Philippines Football League, has yet to release a statement on the matter and the next steps or actions after this event.
