Former Global Cebu FC’s Brazilian defender Wesley Rodrigues formally joins Davao Aguilas as posted by the player through his social media account.
This development further boosts the Mindanao-based club’s backline and enhances its goalscoring options as well particularly in set pieces.
Wesley’s strengths as a player mainly lies in his composure as a defender who has a penchant of providing threats to the opposition during set pieces particularly as one of the target men during corner kicks due to his header and aerial abilities.
He also has a reliable strike when presented a rare opportunity to score.
Before departing Global Cebu, he was able to score for the club via a penalty kick against his new club last April 15 that earned him a place in FOX Sports PH’s first edition of PFL Team of the Week

It is yet to be confirmed if he is eligible to play as soon as possible given that the Philippine transfer window is scheduled to begin on July 15, 2018 according to FIFA TMS (Transfer Matching System) website.
But whatever the case, whether if his move has been a direct transfer from Global or an acquisition as a free-agent, Wesley’s inclusion in the Davao squad could turn out to be a big coup for the club which is in a good position in contending for an AFC Cup spot.
