With the upcoming transfer window in the Philippines Football League, Stallion Laguna swooped for former Global Cebu stalwarts Paolo Bugas and Ojay Clarino while snapping up former UST striker Gino Clarino.
In a social media post through Stallion Laguna’s Facebook Group a few hours ago as of this writing, the three footballers can be seen together signing up their contracts with their new club.
The addition of the three players will definitely boost Stallion Laguna in midfield and offence with Paolo Bugas operating as a midfielder/winger, Gino Clarino as a forward and Ojay Clarino also primarily a midfielder.
In an interview with FOX Sports PH via chat regarding his new signings, Coach Ernie Nierras stated the club’s primary preference on local talents for this transfer window.
“Stallion Laguna FC is focusing on local talent for the July window. This is inline with our philosophy of developing local players, especially the ones that other clubs tend to overlook,” shared the Stallion Laguna boss.
Paolo Bugas (Winger/Attacking-Midfielder)
Paolo Bugas had been on a steady rise for Global Cebu FC particularly in the AFC Cup campaign catching the eyes of FOX Sports Asia in one of the matches which included him as one of the Top 5 performers during Matchday 5 of the group stage.

His addition to Stallion could only be beneficial with the qualities and experience that the midfielder can offer to the squad.
Coach Ernie is full of optimism regarding the former FEU top talent now that he will be playing in his team alongside former FEU Tamaraws Jesus Melliza and Nicholas Ferrer.
“Bugas just started training today, but Im very sure he will gel quickly with the boys.”
Ojay Clarino (Midfielder)
Ojay (or OJ) Clarino returns to Stallion Laguna after being with Global Cebu for 3 years. But the former UST player, who also had a stint with Pachanga for the United Football League, will not feature with the club immediately as per the Stallion Head Coach.
“OJ is a Stallion returnee. He will not be part of the July roster since he will be undergoing ACL surgery soon.”
Gino Clarino has been with the UST Growling Tigers as a striker before signing with Stallion Laguna, and Coach Ernie has seen enormous potential for the young forward.
“Gino has been training with SLFC on and off his whole college career. Mostly during the summer. It was great timing to have Gino and OJ join SLFC,” added the coach.

Aside from the three players another two players will be unveiled tomorrow.
One of the two that is being planned to be announced is former UP Fighting Maroon Javier Bonoan.
Aside from the four mentioned names, previously signed Fil-Iranian Farbod Mahmudi is set to suit up for Stallion sooner rather than later according to Coach Nierras.
“Farbod Mahmudi has been training the past 2 weeks, and may be part of the 18 man roster for Wednesday. If not, then on Sunday for sure.”
