Ceres Negros Reichelt

Patrick Reichelt’s 78th minute goal off a blistering run proved to be the difference as Ceres Negros edge out Davao Aguilas 2-1 in their PFL clash in Pana-ad Park and Stadium.

The match began with both teams running off the blocks with in a bid to create ealy chances at goal.

In the 14th minute James Younghusband put his side ahead after connecting at the end of Phil Younghusband’s cross.

Ceres Negros, despite the early deficit, continued on with their plan as they exhibited their trademark buildup play and patience in coming up with good looks at goal.

Nine minutes later at the 23rd minute, OJ Porteria took his chance with an opening from distance with a well struck shot only for the ball to be denied by the crossbar.

The equaliser did came for the hosts, eventually as Carli De Murga was able to convert a loose ball off a corner to make it 1-1.

The second half picked up where it left off as both squads played positive football in a bid to get the advantage.

Both sides had their spell of threats and attempts, as both defensive ends stepped up in manning their duties.

But come the 78th minute the advantage went Ceres Negros’ side as Patrick Reichelt showed a burst of pace and control after he received a through ball from from Takumi Uesato, beating his marker and successfully lobbing his shot over Davao Keeper Ronilo Bayan to find the back of the net and seize the lead.

The goal would prove to be the decider as Davao Aguilas, try as they may and even getting close at some point, failed to snatch an equaliser.

The result further pads Ceres’ lead in the standings with 28 points, six points more than chasers Kaya Iloilo.
