Double acts combining to bang in the goals up front have long been synonymous with football, and the Bundesliga has no shortage of dynamic duos.

With five games left in the season, teams will be looking to their front men to get the goals needed to win the title, qualify for Europe and even stave off relegation.

But just which pair exactly is the most prolific in the Bundesliga?

FOX Sports Asia takes a look at the five best double acts in the top flight of German football.

5) MAX KRUSE & MILOT RASHICA (WERDER BREMEN) – 18 goals combined

Coming in fifth place at present are Max Kruse, the Bundesliga’s “Mr. 100%” from the penalty spot and his partner-in-crime Milot Rashica, who have netted ten and eight goals for Werder Bremen respectively.

Interestingly enough, both are opposite ends of the spectrum with 31-year-old Kruse boasting over 200 Bundesliga appearances to his name while Rashica, eight years his junior, is only in his first having joined from Dutch outfit Vitesse last summer.

Still, that has not prevented them from combining to excellent effect and their goals have been a big reason why Bremen currently sit comfortably in 7th and are still in with a chance of continental qualification.

4) MARCO REUS & JADON SANCHO (BORUSSIA DORTMUND) – 25 goals combined

One is an established global star that is relishing the added responsibility of his club’s captaincy, while the other is a revelation whose breakout season has seen him tipped for greatness.

The performances of Marco Reus (15 goals) and Jadon Sancho (10 goals) have been a key reason why Borussia Dortmund has been challenging for the title all campaign long, even if a recent slump in form has seem them overtaken by Bayern Munich at the summit.

Interestingly enough, neither are Dortmund’s current top scorer as Paco Alcacer leads the way with 16 but the Spaniard frequently features off the bench, meaning it has been Reus and Sancho who have shouldered most of the offensive responsibilities.

3) ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI & THOMAS MULLER (BAYERN MUNICH) – 27 goals combined

Surprisingly, the Bayern duo of Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Muller are only third on the list of dynamic duos having combined for 27 goals so far this season.

Much of it has to do with Thomas Muller having had to battle for his place in the starting XI – netting just six league goales in the process – with plenty of competition coming from the likes of Serge Gnabry, Kingsley Coman, James Rodriguez and Franck Ribery.

However, it has been business as usual for Robert Lewandowski (21 goals) as he recently racked up his 200th Bundesliga strike to lay claim to being the deadliest foreign marksman in the competition’s history, and he has had good support from Gnabry (9 goals), Leon Goretzka and James (7 goals each).

2) ANDREJ KRAMARIC & ISHAK BELFODIL (HOFFENHEIM) – 28 goals combined

Following last season’s stunning third-place finish, Hoffenheim have been similarly impressive in 2018/19 without reaching the same heights and are currently 6th on the table with a realistic chance of qualifying for Europe again.

With 60 goals scored, Julian Nagelsmann’s charges boast the third-best attacking record in the competition and almost half of those have come from Andrej Kramaric (15 goals) and Ishak Belfodil (13 goals).

In particular, Kramaric has been in prolific form since moving to Germany after a brief spell in England with Leicester, having netted 56 goals in 124 games in all competition.

1) SEBASTIEN HALLER & LUKA JOVIC (EINTRACHT FRANKFURT) – 31 goals combined

Eintracht Frankfurt have been one of the stories of the Bundesliga this season and are currently on course to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League, having gone on a six-game winning streak until last weekend’s shock 3-1 loss to Augsburg.

Much has been made of the Eagles’ attacking trio and – while Ante Rebic has certainly played his part – it is Luka Jovic and Sebastien Haller who lead the way with 17 and 14 goals respectively.

Haller’s influence cannot be underestimated as he also leads the league in duels  (448) and aerial duels (202) won, while Jovic’s prowess in the final third has seen him linked with the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid.
