Ecuador advanced to quarter-finals of the Copa America centenary Sunday night with a resounding 4-0 win over Group B strugglers Haiti at the MetLife Stadium.
Ecuador will now meet hosts the U.S. in the last eight after goals from Enner Valancia, Jaime Ayovi, Christian Noboa and Antonio Valencia saw them finish second behind surprise group winners Peru.
West Ham forward Valencia continued his fine form in the tournament, netting another goal and setting up two more as Ecuador swept aside a poor Haiti side.
Ecuador took the lead in the 11th minute, Enner Valencia running onto a through ball to get behind the Haitian defence before slotting the ball under the keeper.
Valencia then turned provider in the 20th minute squaring the ball for Jaime Ayovi to tap into an empty net after skipping past the last man.
Christian Noboa added a third in the 57th minute before Valencia repeated his unselfish work in the second goal by squaring for his namesake Antonio to roll in and round off the scoring with the fourth goal with 12 minutes remaining.
