Kluivert: I could stay at Ajax

Ajax’s rising star Justin Kluivert has revealed that he will consider staying at the Dutch club despite being linked with top European teams.

Ajax reportedly attempted to sell the 19-year-old winger to Tottenham Hotspur without the player’s knowledge, and after the negotiations failed Kluivert declared that he would not sign a new contract with the club.

This further fuelled interest from fellow Premier League sides Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal.

“I’m not renewing my contract at Ajax. Too much has happened,” Kluivert told Volkstrant earlier this month.

However, Kluivert has now stated that he may still continue at Ajax despite what has transpired recently. His contract at the Eredivisie outfit expires next year.

”It is possible that I will stay at Ajax. I can’t say too much and I am now just looking forward to my holiday and we will wait and see what happens during the summer,” he told the press in South America after beating Paraguay’s Under 21s on penalties with the Dutch team.

”I have to think about things and we will see what will happen.”
