NEC Nijmegen have a announced that Robby Alflen will lead the club as head coach from next season, leaving his assistant role at Heracles Almelo.
According to a statement released by the Eredivisie side, the 49-year-old will be in charge of NEC, whether or not they survive the relegation play-offs.
The former Utrecht boss replaced recently sacked Peter Hyballa but Ron de Groot will continue his role as interim-coach until the end of the relegation play-offs.
Alflen will be tasked to bring some stability to the Dutch side who are aiming to avoid relegation for the second time in four years.
During his spell with Heracles this season – the former Ajax Amsterdam midfielder helped manager John Stegeman guide Heraclieden to a tenth placed finish.
