Ebuehi rules out representiing The Oranje

Can Dortmund maintain their Bundesliga title charge against Bayern Munich?

ADO Den Haag right-back Tyronne Ebuehi has turned his back on the Netherlands in order to repay the faith the Nigeria national team has shown in him.

Born in Haarlem, the ADO Academy graduate has impressed at the Hague over the past three seasons due to his impressive work-rate and versatility in defence.

However, after being called-up to the Super Eagles, the towering defender admits the meteoric rise of new teammate and former Groningen defender William Troost-Ekong convinced him his to pledge his allegiance to the African country.

"I will not do that anymore [play for the Netherlands]," he told Northside. "If you play for ADO Den Haag in all respects, there is a chance that you will be at the Dutch team.

"The competition here is great. Of course, you never know what the future looks like, but I got this chance from Nigeria and thought I had to get it.

"William is in the first team," he added. "I still know him from his time at Dordrecht. He has developed tremendously and is a great example for me."
