Bayern Munich has had to change a lot of personnel in their side in a variety of different positions, but one place has remained solid as steel over the years.
That being the goalkeeping place of course. Manuel Neuer has held the fort for Bayern for the better part of the decade now, and along the way has led the club to domestic and continental glory.
His exploits earned Germany the 2014 FIFA World Cup trophy too, but chinks in the armor have started becoming clearly obvious lately.
Neuer’s fitness has become a major worry for the Bavarians, who have had to call upon their substitute keeper much more than they would have liked, and with errors slowly creeping into his game, the German shot-stopper could be nearing his end.
If it isn’t the end of his career, it certainly is the end of his time in Munich, because Sport 1 is reporting that the Bundesliga giants have already found a replacement.
Alexander Nubel could be the man they turn to in the summer transfer window, with the keeper performing brilliantly for FC Schalke in the Bundesliga.
The custodian has a similar history to Neuer, with the latter also coming from Schalke and impressing whilst there. More details are expected on the deal soon, but surely this has to be the best choice for all parties involved.
