Ramirez stars as Red Sox bring down Giants

The Boston Red Sox returned to the top of the American League East after Hanley Ramirez hit three home runs in their 11-7 MLB win over the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday.

Ramirez collected six RBIs and Travis Shaw also went deep for Boston.

Tyler Naquin hit a pair of home runs and six RBIs as the Cleveland Indians went deep five times on their way to an 11-4 win over the Kansas City Royals.

Jason Kipnis, Carlos Santana and Mike Napoli also homered for the American League Central Division-leading Indians.

Anthony Rizzo also homered twice and Kyle Hendricks struck out seven as the Chicago Cubs beat the New York Mets 6-2.

Matt Holliday, Yadier Molina and Jedd Gyorko went deep in the St Louis Cardinals‘ 4-2 win over the San Diego Padres before the Cardinals completed a sweep of the double header with a 3-2 victory.

Max Kepler broke a tie with a two-out homer and Eddie Rosario then belted a two-run blast to give the Minnesota Twins a 4-1 win over the Detroit Tigers.

Tucker Barnhart and Joey Votto blasted home runs to earn the Cincinnati Reds a 6-3 win over the Atlanta Braves.
