Dodgers sink Nationals in NLCS decider

The Los Angeles Dodgers booked their place in the National League Championship Series as they got the better of the Washington Nationals in their Divisional Series decider on Thursday.

The best-of-five series was tied at 2-2 and the Dodgers came out on top thanks to a four-run seventh inning which gave them a 4-3 victory.

Joc Pederson hit a solo homer, Carl Ruiz registered an RBI single while Justin Turner contributed a two-RBI as the Dodgers set up a clash with the Chicago Cubs in the NLCS to fight for a place in the World Series.

“One of the best games in history,” commented Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez after the famous win.

Nationals right-hander Max Scherzer added: “That’s probably one of the craziest, if not the craziest, games I’ve ever been a part of in my career. Man, this is a tough one to be on the wrong side of.”
