Helmut Marko says rumours that Pierre Gasly will replace Daniil Kvyat from the Singapore GP onward are "absolute rubbish."
In the build-up to Sunday's Italian Grand Prix, Spanish channel Movistar spoke with GP2 driver Gasly about his future.
According to reports, he apparently revealed that a Renault representative told him that he would be in action at the Sinagpore Grand Prix.
He added: "Let's hope it's true. But in the end I need to see Helmut."
Unfortunately for Gasly, the Red Bull advisor has cleared stated that the rumour is not true.
"It's absolute rubbish," Marko told Sky Sports F1.
"Kvyat will have his chance to recover and we won’t make any decisions before mid-October as to who will have the seat in Toro Rosso next year."
Told that Gasly had broken the news to Movistar, he added: "It's news to me but believe me I'll be on the phone with him immediately."
Kvyat had a dismal Sunday at Monza as the under-fire driver retired from the race. The Russian has scored just two points since his demotion to Toro Rosso.
