Dani Pedrosa was daring in the second Free Practice session on Friday at the Aragon Grand Prix as he clocked a blistering time of 1m48.429s in the dying stages to finish as the afternoon's fastest rider.
Pedrosa, who won in Misano, led the way entering the final phase of the session with a 1m48.860s that was 0.355 better than anyone else at the time.
However, in a dramatic conclusion to the day's action, Marc Marquez climbed into second place and then went fastest with a 1m48.494s as only seven minutes remained.
Pedrosa saved his best for last though… quite literally.
He reclaimed top spot in the final 90 seconds with a time of 1m48.483s and improved again after the chequered flag to a 1m48.429s.
It was enough to finish the session 0.065s faster than Marquez, while the talented Cal Crutchlow was 0.081s off the pace in third.
That meant that is was an all-Honda top three.
Valentino Rossi was fourth and 0.240s behind Pedrosa, while his Yamaha team-mate Jorge Lorenzo was a distant seventh and 0.485s off top spot.
