5 of the classiest jerseys today in Philippine men’s sports

In every sporting season, there are teams that come out with jerseys that catches the eye either because of their simplicity, their clever, yet tasteful design or simply because they just look right in the eyes of sports fans.

FOX Sports PH brings you (in no particular order) the classiest jerseys at this moment in Philippine men’s sports.

Meralco Bolts (Dark Blue jersey)

This third jersey of PBA team Meralco Bolts just seem to tick all the boxes.

The Dark/Navy blue primary evokes “premium” and seriousness while the neck trim and side-accents bearing Meralco’s main orange and white colors surprisingly go well in showing the company’s identity.

The slightly leaning/italicized player number fonts at the front is also cleverly placed at the left rib area.

Kudos to the designers of this jersey.

University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons (Black Jersey)

Currently making its appearance in the Fil-Oil Flying V Premier Cup, this solid black jersey with maroon trimmings at the neck and shoulder successfully evokes the “fighting” aura that the team stands for.

With the university’s ID spelled out completely in the national language emblazoned on the chest like a sash (a distinctly “U.P.” element in graduation rites), it stays loyal to the UP tradition of regularly showcasing its nationalistic spirit through the use of Filipino elements (in this case the Filipino language).

All the elements in this State-U battle-suit brings forth all the tradition and brooding meanness in one package that punches you straight in the face without being brash or unnecessarily loud.

UP fans should definitely get a hand on these bad boys.

The Azkals (White Jersey, AFC Asian Cup Qualification)

The Philippine men’s national football team (The Azkals), made a mark once again in international football after qualifying to the 2019 AFC Asian Cup.

in achieving that feat the squad was donning the white jersey with red and blue trim which make up the Philippine flag’s colors.

With a subtle tribal sublimation print on the torso and a simple nameset to go with it, the kit’s overall simplicity makes it a perfect instant classic to go with a monumental achievement for Philippine football.

Alaska Aces (White Jersey)

Alaska’s white jersey usually been consistent and true to their classic design and this 2018 Philippine Cup edition is a testament to that.

Bearing the iconic boxed Alaska logo in red font, the Aces’ white outfit is faithful to its roots and tradition as a PBA franchise harking back to their “Milkmen” days.

The black trims, add contrast and “edge” to the overall timeless design that fans have come to love.

Barangay Ginebra San Miguel (Red Jersey)

If simplicity that works is the name of the game, Barangay Ginebra’s red uniform is a great example.

The crimson red with the distinctive Ginebra San Miguel font solidly demonstrates everything that Ginebra stands for: Passion and no-nonsense attitude.

It bleeds out that “Never say die” spirit.
