Federer not thinking about retirement

At 34, Roger Federer is the oldest player in the ATP top 20, and has a number of years on the players he’s battling with for the title of the world’s best player.

However, while Federer is constantly questioned about when he’s going to call time on his glittering career, the Swiss ace says that he has no intention of hanging up his racquet in the near future.

“Don’t know. Time will tell,” he said when asked how many more Australian Opens he would be adding to the 19 he’s already turned out at.

“I think a lot of retired players could still be at this level, too. They just choose not to do it anymore. So it’s all in the mind, the body, family, traveling, so many things that are a part of this whole thing.

“It’s been going very well for me, and I hope to keep it up as long as I choose to play tennis.”
