Agnieszka Radwanska came through a frenetic third round clash with Barbora Strycova but at times it seemed the match would end very differently to how it did.
The world number two needed three sets to battle past her opponent, eventually winning 6-2, 6-7 (6), 6-2 to progress at Roland Garros.
The match started in dramatic fashion as Strycova broke in the very first game only for Radwanska to break right back. At 3-2 Radwanska then successfully converted another break-point before running away with the opener 6-2.

The second stanza was quite a spectacle with the players trading breaks twice before a tie-breaker was required which Strycova pinched 8-6.
The decider saw five breaks of serve, four went to Radwanska and only two went to Strycova. As the match went on, the gulf in class between Radwanska and Strycova became slightly clearer and the former ended-up storming home by winning the third set 6-2.
Elsewhere on a characteristically unpredictable day at Roland Garros there were wins for Svetlana Kuznetsova and Tsvetana Pironkova over Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Sloane Stephens respectively.
