Karolina Pliskova defeated Alison Riske in the final of the Aegon Open in Nottingham, England, on Sunday.
The top seed has been superb throughout the event, never dropping a set. The final was no different as Pliskova ousted the American 7-6(8), 6-5 in a touch under two hours on the grass courts of Nottingham.
However, it was not one-way traffic for the Czech star.
The duo swapped breaks in the opening set then Pliskova was forced to save three set points to force a tiebreaker.
The epic tiebreaker saw the world number 17 save three more break points and come back from 4-6 down to win it 10-8.
In the second set, they again swapped breaks to tie things up at five games all before Pliskova won the final three games to win her first title of the 2016 season and the fifth of her career.
