Denver Broncos' newly acquired tight end Vernon Davis says that working with Peyton Manning will be a dream come true.
The Broncos traded for the San Francisco 49ers man to add depth at the tight end position following some early season struggles in the Denver offense, but Davis has now revealed that linking up with the former Indianapolis Colts quarterback is something he has always wanted.
"It's kind of overwhelming, Peyton he's one of those guys every wide receiver dreams about,'' Davis said.
"I've been dreaming about Peyton since I left college, I don't know if he knows it, but I've been dreaming about this guy."
Davis also revealed that once the Broncos showed an interest there was no question over the move, but admitted he left the 49ers with a heavy heart.
"GM called me and said, 'Come in' … he sat there and said, 'Denver is very, very interested in you,' and I was like, 'Really,' but I was kind of excited at the same time,'' Davis said.
"Really, that would be an amazing place to go, Peyton Manning's there, are you kidding me? But it was a very emotional day for me.''
"I can't wait to get going now. The last time I felt the energy in that locker room was when we were winning those games in 2013 and we went to a Super Bowl with San Fran, we had that winning attitude to just go out and win games.''
