Malaysian interim coach Datuk Ong Kim Swee was forced to make six last minute changes to his squad ahead of their World Cup qualifiers against Jordan and Palestine.
The reason for the six late changes was for various reasons but luckily Kim Swee had six players on standby in case of instances like this.
"Baddrol Bakhtiar (Kedah) is getting married and Mohammad Azamuddin Akil is expected the arrival of his new baby," said in a statement released by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM)
"Kim Swee had to recall six players who were placed on standby in the list of 23 players who will leave to Jordan tonight.
"The six called up are Azrif Nasrulhaq Badrul Hisham (Selangor), Syahrul Azwari Ibrahim (Harimau Muda B), Redzuan Suhaidi (Penang), Ronny Harun (Sarawak), Ahmad Fakri Saarani (Kelantan) and Fazly Mazlan (JDT)."
Along with Bakhtiar and Akil, striker Mohd Safee Sali will miss their first qualifier against Jordan tonight after receiving a one match suspension for getting two yellow cards but will be available for selection against Palestine the following Thursday.
