VfL Wolfsburg have confirmed that goalkeeper Diego Benaglio has put pen to paper on a new contract extension until June 2017.
The Switzerland international has been with the club since 2008 and has made 232 appearances in the Bundesliga.
The 32-year-old's contract had been due to expire at the end of the season and was delighted to have extended his stay by another year.
"I am delighted that our co-operation will continue," he told the club's official website.
"With my family I feel very good in Wolfsburg, which has become like a second home. It's nice to be on the path to further success with VfL."
Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs added: "He [Benaglio] is a player who totally identifies with VfL Wolfsburg.
"He is an absolute top performer for the team and an important figure, especially for the younger players."
