The ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport Formula E team expects to make a strong challenge for podium places at Saturday’s Putrajaya ePrix in Malaysia.
Drivers Lucas di Grassi and Daniel Abt finished in second and 11th positions respectively at the season opening Beijing ePrix in October, and now hope to improve on those results.
"Beijing was a decent opener because it's always a good feeling to start the season with a podium," says Di Grassi told Motorsport.com.
"However, we don't compete in Formula E to finish second. This is why the team's preparation started the morning after the race. We know exactly where we need to work to reduce the deficit to the factory Renault team."
The Brazilian also claimed second at last season’s race in Putrajaya, while Abt finished in tenth. Germany’s Abt, the son of team owner Hans-Jurgen, has describe the opening race as a learning experience.
“The weekend in Beijing was hugely important for the entire team. We learnt a great deal and can now make a more concerted attack in Malaysia," says Daniel Abt.
"If Lady Luck chooses to look our way then we'll also be able to fight for trophies again there."
