UFC light heavyweights Ryan Bader and Anthony Johnson will headline UFC on FOX 18 on January 30.
The winner of the bout, which will take place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, will likely set themselves up for a shot at the title in their next fight.
Bader (20-4) has won five consecutive fights since losing to Glover Teixeira in 2013, the most recent of which came at UFC 192 in October when he downed Rashad Evans.
Johnson (20-5) had his chance to claim the title at UFC 187, but lost to current light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier. He bounced back from the defeat by beating Jimi Manuwa at UFC 191 in September.
Cormier has said that he would like to take a break before his next title defence, with Jon Jones – who has returned from suspension – eager for a chance to win the title he was forced to surrender following his brush with the law earlier in the year.
Should Cormier and Jones battle it out in the Octagon, the victor would then likely have to defend their title against Bader or Johnson.
