Michael Bisping has revealed that he plans to “destroy” Anderson Silva at UFC Fight Night 83 on February 27 in London, England.
Bisping will be looking to win his third consecutive fight after earning unanimous and split decision victories over C.B. Dolloway and Thales Leites respectively.
With his fight against Silva just over a month away, Bisping admitted that he is hyped up about facing the former UFC middleweight champion and added that his preparation has been going very well.
Should he defeat Silva, Bisping made it clear that he will demand a title shot against reigning middleweight champion Luke Rockhold.
“I’m going to destroy Anderson Silva; I’m telling you right now,” Bisping said on his radio show, The Countdown on SiriusXM. “My camp’s going the best it’s ever been. I’m performing better. Mentally, I’m way better than I’ve ever been, and I’m going to destroy this guy. Then after that I’m going to get the people of London to cheer and make some goddamn noise and demand that I get a title shot.”
Bisping also revealed that he has unfinished business with Rockhold as he claims the middleweight champion headbutted him when they last fought at UFC Fight Night 55 in November 2014. That bout with Rockhold was Bisping’s most recent loss as he was made to submit via the guillotine choke in the second round.
“I do believe that Luke Rockhold is going to be in the building when I fight Anderson Silva,” Bisping said. “Luke Rockhold and I have some unfinished business. He headbutted me in the first round. That’s what I’m looking for. Will the UFC give it to me? Probably not, but I’m going to try. I’m going to try.”
