Blackhawks’ run continues; Lightning strike

The Chicago Blackhawks are enjoying the best NHL winning streak in their history and they made it 12 in a row with a 4-1 victory over the Nashville Predators.

Goals from Artem Anisimov, Richard Panik, Patrick Kane and Andrew Desjardins ensured that the Blackhawks have still not tasted defeat since December 27.

Goaltender Corey Crawford played his part, making 38 saves.

The Tampa Bay Lightning are on an impressive run of their own and six of their players found the net in the 6-4 win over the Edmonton Oilers.

With the game tied at 4-4 early in the third period, Brian Boyle scored the go-ahead goal while Alex Killorn made the game safe 27 seconds from the buzzer.

The Toronto Maple Leafs scored with just 7.5 seconds of the game remaining to snatch a 3-2 win over the Philadelphia Flyers.

The game looked to be heading to overtime with the scores tied at 2-2 until Matt Hunwick’s slap shot found its way through a crowd of players into the back of the net.

JT Miller’s overtime goal gave the New York Rangers a 3-2 success over the Vancouver Canucks while Nicklas Backstrom scored twice in a 6-3 win for the Washington Capitals against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The Boston Bruins were too strong for the Montreal Canadiens, winning 4-1, the Calgary Flames were too hot for the New Jersey Devils in a 4-2 success while Milan Lucic’s third-period goal gave the Los Angeles Kings a 3-2 win over the Dallas Stars.
