Paris Saint-Germain have failed in their attempt to rearrange their Ligue 1 fixture against Lille, three days ahead of their Champions League tie against Chelsea.
A French Professional League (LFP) source confirmed that PSG’s match with Lille would go ahead as planned on February 13, and added that neither club was involved in the decision.
The source told the Associated Free Press: “The LFP cannot find in a busy schedule an available date which respects the wishes of both clubs.”
PSG manager Laurent Blanc had pleaded for a less congested schedule, which will see his side play three matches in seven days before hosting Chelsea in the first-leg on February 16.
The Parisians are top of the Ligue 1 standings, with a staggering 21-point lead over second-placed Monaco.
