Fabio Cannavaro has been fired as manager of Saudi Arabian outfit Al Nassr after just four months in charge.
A 4-3 loss to Najran on Thursday proved to be the final straw for the club’s owners, with Al Nassr, the defending Saudi Pro League champions, now sixth on the standings, some 18 points behind leaders Al Hilal.
During his time at the club, the World Cup winner notched up just six wins in 14 matches, with the decision made to end his tenure ahead of the start of the AFC Champions League later this month.
The Italian joined Al Nassr after a seven-month spell at Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande.
As a player, Cannavaro represented among others Juventus and Real Madrid, and captained Italy to the World Cup title in 2006.
