Lightweight’s Anthony Pettis and Edson Barboza are scheduled to fight each other at UFC 197 on April 23 in Las Vegas.
In his last fight, Pettis (18-4, 5-3 UFC) lost the lightweight championship to Rafael dos Anjos in March 2015. Pettis will have his hands full against tough contender Barboza.
Barboza (16-4, 10-4 UFC), like Pettis, is also coming off a loss against Tony Ferguson in December. The 30-year-old Brazilian will be targeting a win to earn another lightweight title shot.
So far, UFC 197 has two title fights lined up – Demetrious Johnson vs. Henry Cejudo for the flyweight championship and the headlining fight is a light heavyweight bout between Jon Jones and champion Daniel Cormier.
