Gary Neville’s turnaround in fortune continued on Thursday night as his Valencia side recorded their fourth straight win in all competitions.
Los Che thumped Rapid Vienna 4-0 in the second leg of their Europa League last-32 tie to progress 10-0 on aggregate, after winning the first leg 6-0, to progress to the next round of the competition.
The result also becomes the biggest winning margin since it was rebranded the Europa League, comfortably eclipsing the previous record of seven goals jointly held by Porto, Metalist Kharkiv and Dynamo Kiev.
After a disastrous start to his managerial career, Neville’s side are now unbeaten in five matches, including a 1-1 draw with a heavily-rotated Barcelona side, just 22 days after they were thrashed 7-0 by the same opponents.
Los Che next welcome Athletic Bilbao to the Mestalla on Saturday as they look to climb into the top half of the La Liga table.
