Olympique Lyon will be without Aldo Kalulu for up to eight weeks after the attacker sprained his ankle in a training session on Tuesday.
It is a big blow for the 19-year-old who came up through Lyon's academy and only recently broke into the first team, scoring his first league goal for the club against SC Bastia last month.
It is also not good news for Lyon who are already without France international Nabil Fekir and left back Henri Bedimo.
The club announced on Tuesday that the 19-year-old's ankle would have to be put in a cast while the injury heals.
However, in better news, Brazilian right back Rafael and midfielder Clement Grenier returned to training.
