Triple injury concern for Pulis

‘Arsenal need to be optimistic after Liverpool loss’ – Emery

West Brom boss Tony Pulis has seen three players return from the international break with injuries ahead of this weekend's match with Sunderland.

Northern Ireland defender Jonny Evans, Scotland midfielder James Morrison and Sweden centre-back Jonas Olsson picked up knocks while representing their countries during Euro 2016 qualifying and are all considered doubtful for the visit of the Black Cats on Saturday.

Costa Rica defender Cristian Gamboa, Benin midfielder Stephane Sessegnon and Venezuela striker Salomon Rondon are also on international duty, and Pulis is keeping his fingers crossed that the trio will return unscathed.

The Baggies have won just two of their opening eight matches in the Premier League to sit precariously above the relegation zone in 17th place, and the manager can ill-afford to lose key personnel as he looks to get their season back on track.

"We're hoping everyone returns back okay," Pulis said. "Evans and Morrison are still being assessed at this stage. We will see how they are but both are doubts.

"Many of the players won't be back in till later this week. Salomon, Sess and Cristian for instance don't come back until late Thursday or early Friday. It's ridiculous really but there's nothing we can do about it."
