Bulls secure Bothma

Highlights – Bayer 04 Leverkusen vs 1. FSV Mainz 05

According to reports in the South African press, Namibia loose forward Renaldo Bothma has joined the Bulls from the Sharks with immediate effect.

The Supersport website reports that Bothma has been released from his Sharks contract seven months before it ends and has committed to a long-term deal with the Pretoria-based side.

Bothma made his debut for Namibia in 2014 and has represented them in 10 Tests. Along with his 15 Sharks appearances, he also played in 54 matchesfor Currie Cup Premier division side the Pumas.

He has reported to the Bulls on Monday but will only be available for selection for their derby at home against the Cheetahs in two weeks time and will not travel with the team to Singapore to face the Sunwolves this weekend.

The 26-year-old is nursing a foot injury which he sustained in Japan late last year while playing for Toyota Verblitz.

The Bulls will be boosted by Bothma's availability as well as that of Lappies Labuschagne, Deon Stegmann and prop Dean Greyling, who are returning from injury for the Cheetahs clash.
