Phillip Kohlschreiber and Phillip Petschner completed a dominant 6-3 6-2 6-3 doubles victory to take a 2-1 lead over the Dominican Republic in their Davis Cup World Group play-off tie on Saturday.

The German duo made only five unforced errors combined throughout the match, and converted six of 18 break points.

In other play-off ties taking place in South America, Croatia lead Brazil 2-1 after Ivan Dodig and Franco Skugor defeated Marcelo Melo and Bruno Soares 6-0 3-6 7-6 (7-2) 7-6 (7-3).

There were better fortunes for Colombia, as Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah bested Japan's Yoshihito Nishioka and Yasutaka Uchiyama 6-7 (4-7) 6-2 6-3 6-2.
