New Paris Saint-Germain signing Angel Di Maria has received plaudits from several of his teammates despite only joining the club just over a month ago.
The Argentinean winger joined PSG from Manchester United in August and scored the club's first goal in a 2-0 win over Malmo in the Champions League on Tuesday, earning a standing ovation from the home crowd when he was substituted late on.
Brazilian centre-back David Luiz told the official Ligue 1 website: "Angel is my friend and I'm very happy for him that he's started this way with Paris. With him in the side there is a greater verticality to our play and we get into the opposition penalty area very quickly."
Zlatan Ibrahimovic added: "Di María plays very direct football when he has the ball. He offers a lot and creates a lot of space for us. He still needs to settle in, but it is very easy to play with him."
Midfielder Blaise Matuidi said: "Angel offers other solutions in play, more variety. He's someone who can break through lines with or without the ball. On top of that, his quality of passing and his physical qualities are way above average. His being here means we have another great player with us, and we're happy to have him."
