Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson has been ruled out for up to eight weeks after suffering a broken metatarsal in training on Friday.
The midfielder only just joined the rest of the side after several weeks on the sidelines with a left-heel complaint, for which he received treatment in the United States last week.
However, in his first session back, Henderson fractured a bone in his other foot and is set to go under the knife this week.
The injury is likely to rule the 26-year-old out for up to 11 games for Liverpool, while he'll also miss England's Euro 2016 qualifiers in October.
"Very disappointed and frustrated with the injury setback but will work hard to be back as quickly as possible," he tweeted from his official Twitter account.
"Will be supporting the team in every way I can while I'm unable to play. Thanks for all of your support."
