BVB Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan was full of praise for team-mate Matthias Ginter following his goal in their 2-1 win over Krasnodar in the Europa League.
Ginter has been a key component to Dortmund's early-season form that has seen them win all four of their opening league games to go top of the table, ahead of Bayern München on goal difference.
"What Matze is doing at the moment – hats off to him. His performances have been sensational. It feels like every square ball or cross he whips in ends up in the back of the net. It's amazing, and Matze is in top form at the moment. I hope that he can keep his form up for a long time," Gundogan told the official German Football Association website.
Despite the club's strong start to the league season, Dortmund were far less convincing in the continental competition in midweek and the midfielder admitted it would be a tough tournament to win.
"Obviously it won't be easy, but to be honest we knew that before. Even if you don't come up against so many big names as in the Champions League, it's clear the Europa League is will be a tough task for us. Every game starts at 0-0, and our Bundesliga form goes out the window," he explained.
