Bayern München coach Pep Guardiola hopes to wrap up the Bundesliga title when his side host Borussia Monchengladbach next week Saturday.
With a number of key players rested ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League showdown with Atletico Madrid, Bayern had to battle hard for a 2-0 win against Hertha Berlin on Saturday.
The victory, however, was not enough to seal the Bundesliga title after Borussia Dortmund won 3-0 away at VfB Stuttgart.
But victory over Monchengladbach in a weeks’ time will be enough for Bayern to wrap up the title, and Guardiola is determind to make ensure this is the case.
“We have it in our own hands now, we only need one more win,” he said.
“I hope that we put in a good performance next week and win the title against Monchengladbach. It was an unpleasant game for us. The first half was very complicated.
“The first goal was very important for us, for our confidence and for our style of play. Hertha did not get any chances after that.”
“The game against Atletico will be completely different than this one versus Hertha,” he added.
