Wrist surgery for Dreyer

Marquez suffers big crash in MotoGP Australian GP FP1

The Lions have suffered a setback with the news that front-row Ruan Dreyer will undergo an operation on a wrist injury.

Lions team doctor Rob Collins confirmed that Dreyer will go under the knife on Tuesday after fracturing his right wrist in the Super Rugby match against the Kings in Port Elizabeth on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Johannesburg-based outfit also revealed that hooker Malcolm Marx (neck) and prop Julian Redilinghuys (wrist)are recovering well. The duo missed the clash with the Kings due to injury.

Depending on how well they progress this week they may be tested on Thursday to see if they can play this weekend.
