Rosberg knows winning streak will end

Marquez suffers big crash in MotoGP Australian GP FP1

Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg has acknowledged that his perfect start to the 2016 Formula 1 season will come to an end at some point.

Rosberg has won the opening three races of the 2016 campaign, and will be aiming to extend his winning streak at the Russian Grand Prix in Sochi this weekend.

While the 30-year-old is loving every moment of his unbeaten run, he conceded that it will eventually be brought to an end.

“I’m just trying to soak up and enjoy every moment,” Rosberg told reporters. “I’ve never had so much fun racing in my career.

“Put it this way. I’m certainly not looking forward to it, but I know that the day will come, because nothing is forever.

“What is important is that I am happy – the car is great and at home I have a great wife and a healthy child, and for that I feel great gratitude.”

Rosberg currently tops the Formula 1 standings with 75 points, while team-mate and reigning World Champion Lewis Hamilton is his closest competitor with 39 points.
