Malaysian ace Lee Chong Wei and China’s Wang Yihan won the men’s and women’s singles titles respectively at the Dong Feng Citroen Badminton Asia Championships in Wuhan, China on Sunday.
Third seed Chong Wei needed 82 minutes to defeat top seed Chen Long of China 21-17, 15-21, 21-13 and take their career head-to-head encounters to 13-12 in favour of the former world number one.

They first played each other at the Yonex Sunrise India Open in March 2009, which Chen won in three games.
In the women’s singles final there was an upset when China’s sixth seed Wang Yihan took 60 minutes to get past compatriot and top seed Li Xuerui 21-14, 13-21, 21-16 to take their head-to-head matches going back to 2010 in favour of Wang 10-8.
In the mixed doubles final, top seeds Zhang Nan and Zhao Yunlei of China defeated Indonesia’s second seeds Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir 16-21, 21-9, 21-17 in a match lasting 61 minutes.
In the women’s doubles final, top seeds Misaki Matsutomo and Ayaka Takahashi of Japan beat countrymen Naoko Fukuman and Kurumi Yonao 21-13, 21-15.
In the men’s doubles final, top seeds Lee Yong Dae and Yoo Yeon Seong of Korea Republic defeated the unseeded Chinese duo Li Junhui and Liu Yuchen 21-14, 28-26 in a match lasting 58 minutes.
