Swansea skipper Ashley Williams believes talk of qualifying for the Champions League distracted his side ahead of Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Watford.
Odion Ighalo scored the only goal of the game as the Swans suffered their first defeat in their first five Premier League games this season.
Garry Monk's side have been in impressive form and came into the game on a high following their 2-1 win over Manchester United before the international break.
Their form saw them backed for a place in the top four this season and Williams believes Swansea were a bit complacent because of it.
"When everyone's throwing that at you it can take your eye off the ball a little bit," he was quoted as saying by the Daily Express.
"We can get over that now and just focus on being Swansea City and not worrying if we can get into Europe.
"We're just focused on what we're supposed to do."
