Scolari focusing on what lies ahead

Room for Improvement: Former Champions Kashima & Guangzhou must step up

Guangzhou Evergrande head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has insisted that his side will be fully focused in their AFC Champions League quarter-final second leg fixture against Kashiwa Reysol.%u200B

The Chinese Super League champions head into Tuesday's clash with Kashiwa holding a handy 3-1 advantage from the first leg, which was played in Japan.

Guangzhou have twice previously beaten their J-League opponents at the Tianhe Sport Centre Stadium, and they will feel confident of making it three from three. However, there will certainly be no complacency from Scolari's men.

“The first leg of the quarter-final was fascinating and both sides showed their own merits, although we did a better job in terms of scoring,” the Brazilian told the official AFC website. “But that has already become history, right now we have to focus on the upcoming match.”

The Southern China Tigers head into the match on a terrific run of form that has seen them go unbeaten in all competitions since May.
