The US Open final between Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer has begun after a rain delay of more than three hours.
Intermittent rain in the afternoon at Flushing Meadows saw the final, which was due to start at 4pm local time, put on hold.
The forecast for the evening is positive, and it is not expected that rain will interfere further with proceedings.
This is not the first time that the men's final has fallen foul to the elements, with five consecutive finals from 2008 to 2012 delayed by rain.
This year's women's semi-finals were pushed back a day due to rain, although Saturday's final went off as scheduled.
In 2016, a retractable roof will make its debut at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
